6 Reasons Why New Zealand Should Be Your Next Travel Destination
March 12, 2017New Zealand is a dream destination many of us should have a chance in a lifetime to go. And these are the reason why you should put New Zealand in a pin point:
1. What you ask for, they have it!
When you heard of New Zealand you may imagine all the pretty landscapes and gut-thrilling adventures! From bungy jumping, canoeing to hiking, New Zealand adventures won’t disappoint! But like many countries in the world, New Zealand also owns a lively traditional society that firmly holds a rich culture. The Maori people settles in many parts of New Zealand. They are the indigenous people of NZ who came from the Polynesian regions in the earlier times. Today, with their culture, language and arts, the Maori is also what makes New Zealand unique.
New Zealand can also become your one-time stop destination for all the lifestyle you need! Shopping, culinary and the hippest night life can also be found here. The experience you’ll have with the trendiest shops, delicious culinary, adrenaline rush of adventure and embracing the local’s traditions would make you go head over heels with New Zealand.
2. You’ll be in touch with your nature-loving self
New Zealand is home to the most wonderful nature sights, therefore many unpredictable wildlifes are also present here. Imagine steep green hills on one side of the country, but also a huge rocky mountain covered in snow on another side. With unique animals of all shapes and sizes, including the infamous Kiwi birds and sheeps!
Not to mention vast bodies of water that holds both large and tiny ocean creatures. Lakes, mountains, hiking trails in New Zealand would change your life. Even dive spots and caves can be easily found here. You’ll never realize how in-debt you are of the world’s nature and how much you love them until you place your feet in New Zealand.
3. Experience life in an RV (Recreational Vehicle/Campervan)
I grew up watching western family movies and The Wild Thornberry’s, and always wonder how they always travel in that huge car with multidimensional parts to it. Kitchen, bed, toilet and hooded tent all in one car is always so mesmerizing to me. And in New Zealand we could actually hire a campervan based on our needs and have a road trip just like in the movies! Camping in a campervan or road trip is perfect to be done in New Zealand. The smooth road and easy-to-drive vehicle (they drive on the left-hand side of the road, like in Indonesia) would be a few of the many reasons to experience life in an RV. Along the route from North Island to South Island will have many camping grounds with eye-pleasing sceneries at every corner. So if you have plenty of travel time, there is no good reason NOT to try this out when you’re in New Zealand. Motorhome rentals are also really easy and many to choose from. As long as you have your International Driver’s License and above 21 years old, you’ve got a chance to experience an awesome journey!
4. Bring out the inner Natgeo photographer in yourself
If you’re placed on the side of the globe where real-life visuals are beyond ordinary, you will want to capture the moments. When you’re in New Zealand, you don’t need to be a professional photographer or have an awesome camera. Basically all of the pictures you take there will look amazing thanks to the landscapes that are already magically photogenic. No need to show off your skills, pretty sure Natgeo will still want your pics!
5. Be in the picturesque movies sets
Dive into the world of wonders where movies became alive only by featuring the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand. Aotearoa (NZ in Maori language) has become the set of many magical international films. Of course you are familiar with Middle-earth, the land of the Hobbits from The Lord of the Rings. This set has been popularized due to Sir Peter Jackson’s beautiful imagination making vast green hilly space in New Zealand a perfect setting to become Hobbiton. They even have various tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set, since it has become so popular!

Flock Hill and Cathedral Cove is also two of the most iconic landscape that appears in the movie Chronicle of Narnia. With a view like these, I don’t doubt it translates a fantasy story really well. Other beautiful NZ sceneries that performs well in a movie set includes Paradise in Glenorchy, Queensland for the movie Wolverine and The Hobbit, Mount Cook as the set for the heart-pumping film Vertical Limit and not forgetting the inspiration of the animation movie, Moana. Which tells a story inspired by the history character of the Maoris, named Maui. Oh how wonderful it must have been to have a place that can inspire your artistics instincts. Only in New Zealand!

6. A time to “switch off” from your tiring routines
New Zealand’s long haul flight would be the perfect moment to calm your mind and the perfect way to “switch-off” from your tiring routines. Have a moment for yourself to relax and enjoy the flight, especially if you get to take Malaysia Airlines’ comfortable flights to NZ! The 11-or more-hour flight would not disappoint if you have world-class entertainment right by your comfy seat! Come back home as a refreshed and fulfilled person; fully inspired and confident, just like what femaledaily.com always persuades us to be.
