Semar Kuning I 

Started from a love of traditional arts, Cokorda Anom Puri Dalem, a Balinese from Ubud created a gallery of visual arts, compiling artworks from various artists across the region and from all over the world. 

Cokorda created his artworks and introduce them across many art shops in Bali in 1973. By 1978, he sculpted wood statues and sells them at his sister and brother in law’s house at Desa Mas, BR Abianseka and called the shop Semar Kuning I 

In 1985, the gallery moved back to his original home town of Ubud, and collaborate with other artists to become a cooperation of talented artists. The collection of artworks has been purchased and admired by many collectors and art enthusiast from all over the world, including US, England, Germany, and Australia. 

Semar Kuning I, which means Love, was inspired by a traditional shadow puppet story about a romantic lover, Sang Hyang Tunggal. With an extraction of pure love and friendship, Semar Kuning I Artist Cooperative Paintings now becomes a gallery with the desire to fulfill one’s feeling through art. 

Cokorda Anom Puri Dalem was born in BR. Kertawangsa, Lodtunduh, Ubud in December 31, 1944. In the beginning of his school days, back in 1963, he was taught to paint traditional Balinese painting from Mangku Regung and Mangku Puseh in Desa Mas, Lodtunduh, Ubud. 

Cokorda earnestly fulfil his passion in arts by attending an art school called CSSRIJ in Denpasar. Through his fond of art, Cokorda continues to develop the potential of traditional Balinese culture through his paintings and artworks. 

Semar Kuning I 

Dimulai dari kecintaannya pada seni tradisional, Cokorda Anom Puri Dalem adalah seorang seniman Bali asal Ubud yang telah membangun sebuah galeri kumpulan karya dari berbagai seniman lokal maupun luar negeri. 

Pada tahun 1973, Cokorda memberanikan diri untuk mulai menempatkan beberapa karya dan lukisannya di berbagai toko seni (art shop) di Bali. Kepercayaan diri membibitkan hasil. Pada tahun 1978, Cokorda mulai membuat patung kayu dan menjualnya di rumah ipar dan kakak kandungnya di Desa Mas, BR Abianseka dan memberi nama Semar Kuning I. 

Di tahun 1985, galeri tersebut dipindahkan kembali ke kampung halaman Ubud dan mulai berkolaborasi dengan berbagai seniman lokal. Semar Kuning I inipun menjadi sebuah kooporasi para seniman bertalenta di Bali. Koleksi karya-karya seni ini tidak jarang dibeli dan dikagumi oleh para kolektor dan pecinta seni hingga berbagai belahan dunia. Sebut saja Amerika, Inggris, Jerman hingga Australia adalah beberapa negara peminat koleksi karya seni dari Semar Kuning I. 

Kasih Cinta adalah arti dibalik nama Semar Kuning I. Nama inipun terinspirasi dari sebuah cerita wayang tentang seorang lelaki pencinta, Sang Hyang Tunggal. Dengan melarutkan cinta dan kasih sayang yang kekal, Semar Kuning I Artist Cooperative Paintings kini menjadi galeri seni dengan harapan untuk memenuhi perasaan hati setiap orang melalui seni. 

Cokorda Anom Puri Dalem lahir di BR. Kertawangsa, Lodtunduh, Ubud pada tanggal 31 Desember 1944. Pada awal masa sekolahnya di tahun 1953, ia diajarkan melukis lukisan tradisional Bali dari Mangku Regung dan Mangku Puseh di Desa Mas, Lodtunduh, Ubud. 

Cokorda sungguh-sugguh untuk memenuhi keinginannya dalam bidang seni, dan berhasil bersekolah di sekolah seni CSSRIJ di Denpasar. Tetap menggemari seni, Cokorda terus berusaha mengembangkan potensi budaya tradisional Bali lewat lukisan dan karya-karyanya
